LORI’S STORY

Lori is a former bartender who loves mixing and blending to create beautifully designed and sinfully delicious cakes.

Layer cakes are Lori’s thing. One day, while mixing some orange zest into her citrus cake recipe, it occurred to Lori to try adding turmeric to brighten the color. This added an intensity of color and an extra hint of warmth to the flavor. Which then got her approaching total flavor profiles for layer cakes in the way a bartender (mixologist) approaches a flavor profile for a craft cocktail. Bitters in that buttercream? Yes! Campari in that caramel? Why not?

“Cakeology” was born.

Lori aims to supply Beaufort and surrounding areas with cakes which are uniquely crafted and well-planned. Most cakes can be executed with a couple days’ notice; and while she does not make “themed” cakes she can create amazing floral works of art for you with a couple weeks’ notice in most cases.
